Omaha police say a second man has been arrested in connection with an army staff sergeant's death over the holidays. Police arrested Jason Devers, 35, was arrested Thursday. He was booked into Douglas County Corrections on a 1st Degree Murder charge.7 month ago

A man showed a gun and demanded money from employees at an Omaha Valentino's Pizza store Sunday afternoon. Employees told police the man walked into the store near 50th and Leavenworth streets around 3:30 p.m. He left after getting cash, police said.

A 19-year-old who fatally shot a 20-year-old man during a Russian roulette-style party game was sentenced Friday to six to 12 years in prison for manslaughter. Prosecutors said the shooting occurred early on April 2 of last year after a group of people gathered at a party in a home near 27th Street and Camden Avenue.

Vismar Carmona-Martinez registered a blood alcohol content of 0.24, or three times the legal limit, according to Omaha Police Officer Michael Pecha, a spokesman for the department.

The Lincoln Police Department blocked off part of downtown Lincoln near the University of Nebraska campus on Saturday night as officers talked a man with a knife out of hurting himself. The man was outside near 14th and R Streets, next to campus, Capt. Bob Farber of the Lincoln Police Department said.
