Firefighters had to free Devon Kurmel, 20, from a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis after it collided with a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee just before 11 p.m. Kurmel, who was taken to the Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy, sustained injuries to his abdomen and head that police said could be life threatening.
